I was a big fan of EI some time back, but dont find much reference to it now. I cant find the dry ferts on Greenmachine or aquaessentials.

Any way i can get hold of them?

hold on i'll search out a link from an old thread of mine, iv lost the site, i still use EI

here http://www.aquariumplantfood.co.uk/fertilisers/dry-chemicals/starter-kits/ei-starter-kit.html

Many Thanks. Many people use liquid ferts which is sooooo expensive. Has EI died a death whilst ive been away?

i think so, i use it and so do a few others, but some people just like to play it safe

EI hasn't really died a death. It's just not new and shiny at the moment.

fluid sensor online and aquarium plant food both do dry salts off the top of my head.

Yeah I think some people don't have the time to mix them too, like myself, I'd love to use EI as you can tweak your mix if you get algae or show a deficiency.

EI still gets referenced quite a bit in PFK.
AE stopped because of cheap salts appearing.
You can get EI kits on eBay., Planted Tanks stock them as well.

I think it dropped out of favour becuase it became fashionable to mix liquid versions of it- which kind of defeated the object - this was made possible by forgetting to add Calcium (GH Boost), I know that never sat too well with Tom Barr.....
The FSO kits have gone back to it's roots with dosing spoons - swapping out just Magnesium for Calcium / Magnesium (GH Boost) in the soft water versions.
