Hi Everyone,

I bought some plant fertiliser tablets on friday, and after putting them in my tank, the water is now all cloudy.... I thought it was from disturbing the substrate, but it's been 3 days now and it hasn't cleared up at all....

Has this happened to anyone else? Have I put too many in maybe? I check at the LFS and they are definately ok to put in with fish....

Read the instructions. I know it sounds stupid, but sumtimes ppl forget too and do as the lfs says. Dont. Always read the instructions.

Anyways, do a 25% water change and wait a while. If your fish are not effected, i would wait and see if it goes away by itself. But if fish show signs of ill health, continue water changes and remove tabs.

You might just be having a bit of an algae bloom. My tank did the same thing after adding 2 root tabs and some liquid stuff when I finally had all live plants. There is that much more food for the algae to live on, so they thrive for a while. Mine only lasted for a day. I did a water change, and turned the lights off until the bloom was gone, then cut back the hours of light from 12 to 6, and am slowly moving them back up to 10 hours in 30 minute incriments every week.

Hi,

It's ok, when I got home last night the water had cleared = phew! Took 3.5 days in all to go back to normal....

Thanks for the info ;)

Jo.
