Hello! Resently i have aquired a pregers golden lyretail molly! *sings* "im so excited!... And i just can't hiiide IT!!!" lol... anyway, i also have pregnant platy. (she now looks like shes tearing at the seams...) The brith tank i want to put them in is a 5ish gal, temp a little over 75F(Its heating up...) If i put them in the tank together, will they eat each other's fry? or mind their own fishness?(ha... ha...) If they will, i have a breeding trap i think i can put the platy in when its time. How long can i keep her in there at a time? :/ :) I really don't want to mess this up, because i had this black molly that was preggo yesterday... when i came home from school today, she was... *gulp* skinny. :'''[ The male was being all agressive, more than usual! infact, it looked a couple min.s ago like they were having a shimmey fight! (im guessing thats really bad) Just for they record, they don't have the shimmeys. Sadly i didn't find any fry. :X

Thanks in advance for the help! XD

Does your tank have gravel or fake plants? I once saw a fry underneath a couple pieces of gravel. He found a little tunnel. :)
The general rule is 48 hrs at the most in the breeder. Sorry, but I don't know about leaving the mothers in.

You mean theres still hope?!
Well, now im pretty sure it was all my big black males falt. >:[ i bought her pregers from the pet store.
XD

I would keep them in the main tank. Since both are pregnant some are bound to survive. You probably have some fry from the black molly, you just haven't found them yet.

I had black frys from my molly, and I also had black gravel. They look invisible againest the gravel, filter everything! so just be careful when your doing a gravel vac

Thanks so much you guys! i'll keep an eye out, The tanks pretty crowded tho so....

AND....
OMG!!! My Sunset platy gave birth! *dances in circles* it eather happened when i was at school, or this morning when i was dalousional and groggly... :hyper:  :D There my first fry! So far ive seen like, 5 or 10 hidding in the artifical plants (my LFS didn't have java or somthing useful in time...) i put in the tank! i'm pretty sure its my platys first birth, is 10 a good number she could of had? possibly 20?... Thanks again! my lyretail molly is huge now, pretty squared off! So i have decided to put her in the breeding trap instead. She looks, surprisingly, perfectly content in there... not thrashing like my platy was. (that was the one that just had the babies, i let her give birth in the Fry tank) :]]
