most of my females die after releasing the fry. why??
i seperate my holding females after a week or so so the fry are ready to be released after i put the female back in her original tank she get ripped fins and having a hard time. eventually she dies :( sometimes before i seperate her she dies why is that?? :shout:

Are you feeding them well? And with a varied diet. I would think that if it's not enough they could die from malnutrition, as they don't eat while holding. Also are they juvies or adults (could play a part in it). Have you tried just stripping the fry and then putting her right back in the main tank? Then there won't be an absence and may not get beat up on so much?

Another thing....what are your m:f ratios?

Sorry to many statements/questions. could be a lot of factors.

best to let the female build up her stenght in separate tank for a roundfive days after her spitting her fry , place hr back in teh main tank after wards, i would do a water change prior to reintrocution hope this helps regards
