Hey guys,
I have a lone female betta in a 5 gal tank, is there anything that can cohabitate nicely? She is about a year old and is really small (but pretty dominant-she held her own living with a blue gourami--she would chase him around sometimes) only about 1.5 in. Any ideas? there are two live plants, a mountain hiding spot and a snail (no more gourami).

any suggestions would be awesome (i know it's a bit of a small tank, space and money limited my options..though i have my eye on a 29 gal bow front for the future...)

Are you talking about another type of fish? If not, then I would say an african dwarf frog or some ghost shrimp. ADF's are like $3 to $5 at my local petco, and ghost shrimp are only 49 cents

My male betta picked on the ghost shrimp when I first got them. Now he flares at them once in a while and chases them, but doesn't pick at them anymore :)

They keep him nice company lol

My Betta Wafty lives with two ADF's and amano shrimp in my 60L they get on really well :good:

I don't suggest fish companions.. I would go for the abovementioned ADF or ghost shrimp (Though they become handy little meals sometimes.. Be prepared for that).
5 gallons is a betta mansion! I'm sure she'll enjoy herself
