i got 4 1.75" rosy barbs last saturday and today is the first time i've seen the two females fight by circling each other and nipping the base of each other's tails. is there anything i can do to stop this fighting? what is the cause of the fighting?

i've seen a head injury on the male rosy barb (two little chunks missing  ). i assume this is due to him swimming in between the two females, trying to break up the fight (at least that's my assumption).

Aparently barbs can be like this in small groups, if you were able to add more it may well sort out your problem

typical.................two women fighting over one man..........................lucky sod

maybe hes one of those men that like to watch two women wrestling......and cant resist getting a closer look

barbs are natural nippers. if you put more of the same barbs in they will get distracted and will have more of a chance of leaving each other alone, no gaurentee though.

they've stopped fighting (for now). i wonder what that was all about?

ps. i've lowered the temperature from 82F to 77F, if that matters.
