right im at the point where im worried now as some damage has been done to my Male from the Female.

my current plan is to give him to a friend who has a tank suitable for him.

basically the female relentlessly chases the male from what ive seen, soon as she sees him and is in close proximity she goes for him.

do you know why this is??

what would you suggest?

should i give him to my friend? if so permanently or for a couple of weeks until his fins heal?

its unusual as i thought its the male that chases the female.
behavior wise he is still very active, shows his colors and eats well.

Not sure about the behaviour being exhibited, but do you have a QT that you can set up and put him in rather than give him away permanently or otherwise?

i have got another tank but its in the middle of a fishless cycle, it wont be permanent(hopefully unless its better to keep them apart)

from what ive said in the first post it is a slight exaggeration in the extent of what damage has been done

i know this pic is of the female but for a diagram purpose his fin looks like that without but with the area in red missing

Female is always the smallest. They will fight, If they don't pair up then one will kill the other and you can't really stop it.

The best way to work it out is to get a proven pair or try your luck really.
