Okay so I bought a female blue ram for my lonely male blue ram as soon as I added her to the tank he went chasing after her and I was worried about that but some people on here told me he may be courting her?

Now I checked on her today and her belly is fat. My brother overfed them yesterday so could she just have eaten a lot? The male and female are traveling side by side all the time now.

theoretically, she just has to have been well-kept in the store and well-acclimated to your tank to be in breeding condition already. if you have a good LFS, this could easily be true. the LFS by my internship always had something trying to breed in their tanks. my favorite was seeing the emperor tetras start courting -- a surprisingly colorful event.

congratulations, you've found a good supplier!

Last time I bought Rams, I bought 4 of them. One pair laid eggs 2 days later, the other pair within a week, so if well kept by your LFS then they may lay eggs immediately.

Personally I think eggs are a' comin'. Just check if they hang around a particular rock, as they will probably start giving it alot of attention to it and begin preparing it.
