I have a pair of Blue Rams and recently, the female is behaving odd. I think it is breeding behavour but it is not consistent. Until recently, she has been timid and was chased a lot by the male. Over the past 2 days, the chasing has been a lot less and they seem to be learning to live together. Yesterday and today at feeding time, the female's colours become extremely intense and her aggression raises. She chases the other fish around and hangs around the male Ram. However, she gradually calms down and becomes her usual timid self. The male continues to show interest but the females just swims away.

Any ideas?

Think there needs to be a bit more time before they breed. Male is still too agressive for the female to be comfortable.

your Rams in your avatars look amazing!

also, i think it might just be a courtship/paring/mating behavior

thanks im sure they will and by the way that german blue ram on my avatar dies ages ago i have some new ones(a new one just one)
