That's the problem - finding out what the underlying disease is so it can be treated before it becomes serious. Unfortunately, if the disease is viral, there is no treatment; if it's bacterial, which bacteria and what's the appropriate antibiotic; if it's protozoan, again which one.
So many internal diseases show no external signs or symptoms until it's too late.
