I posted about my female platies having swim bladder problems before, but now that I've had over a week to observe her, I strongly think it's something else.
My oldest female platy will be swimming normally, eating whenever there is food, but mostly hides in a castle in the tank. Sometimes when she comes out, however, she will start spinning like a top, with her head as the middle of the circle. I've observed actual swim bladder issues before, and usually the fish will swim sideways or upside down, but this fish only exhibits these strange symptoms some of the time. I have also observed the male "goading" her? (if that makes sense). Usually when it happens he has been chasing her and will dart at her sides, but she has no fin damage and no observable scale damage (yet). I'm led to believe that she has some kind of neurological issue, but in a fish? She looks entirely normal, no tumors, no fungus, nothing observable other than she's pregnant. Any feedback, other theories, etc. would be appreciated.
Also, the water specs are fine, and no other fish seem to be affected.
