My female platy has been hiding(very well) and not moving for a few days now. She dropped fry about three weeks ago, and seemed normal and healthy. This past week, though, she has taken to hiding under a piece of drift wood, and not even coming out to eat. Any ideas on why she may be behaving this way? I don't see any signs of disease on her or the other fish.

Thanks for any advice or ideas.

She's probably tired after giving birth.
What other fish are in with her if any?
What size tank?
Are you water stats ok?

Some female livebearers need to rest after birthing others seem to take it in their stride (swim!) hehe. A bit like humans.
Sometimes new fish mums appreciate time out in a separate tank although this isn't always practical if you only have one.

Give us a few more details as above and will try to help.

Sorry missed your signature. Tank size and tankmates sound fine. Hopefully she will recover but sometimes livebearers get sick after giving birth. Watch her carefully and check your tank's ammonia and nitrite levels. I'm sure they are fine if the other fish aren't showing any signs of stress.
