seen some lovely female betters for sale and am thinking of doing just a tank with them in (once the tank becomes free.)
what id like to know is what is the ideal number of females for a 24x12x15 tank, also whats the ideal set up - thinking some bog wood and plant cover(ohhing and arring over plastic or real) mainly.

My main concern is will a tank of just all females get too agresive? I did have 3 females befor in 1 tank and they chased each other sometimes but Im unsure if this was because my tank was overstocked with too many fish anyway, so no where to get "their own space" or that the tank wasnt set up right (hardley any plant cover  )

any info would be greatly apreciated

mt girls get along fine,, it depends on the fish ,, i did have a few nasty one and those i gave away to be single fishy homes, no more then a gallon per fish at the least 1.5 to 2 per fish is better,, i have 7 girls in a very densly planterd ten gallon tall stuff in the back middle in the middle small in the frount with a inch or twu of free swin space in the very frount

The more females you have, the better they will get along. You will still see an occasional chase or nip, and some girls are nasty no matter what, but usually it will work out well. Plant cover will help too.

I have... maybe 12 females in my tank right now. The most aggressive three get nipped on a pretty regular basis, from squabbling with each other, but it's never all that bad and everyone else is left alone.

ETA: I ignored part of your question. If those are the correct dimensions, your tank is 18 gallons or so, and if you keep no other fish in it you can support about 10 female bettas.

I have a huge lump of jave moss and a bit of java fern in with my girls, i probably have a fish or two too many for the size but i have no nipped fins or agression what so ever. I use a smal filter and do a 25% water chage every week. Its a 10 gal btw lol. I have to admit the all girl tanks are fab and i find you can interact moreso with them than the boys
