I got a selection of mollies two weeks ago. One white female seemed rather pregnant, definately larger than the other females. She was quite lethargic but ate and reacted to other fish. I woke up this morning and she was very skinny, seemed to have almost a hunched back, wasnt moving much stilll breathing though. I thought she might ahve given birth but couldnt see any fry. I watched her through the day as she slowed down further and developed blood like colouring around her anal fin and lower end stopping just before her tail, she then died.

Im just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this or if anyone has any idea whats caused it?

Cheers x

I'm no expert (only been keeping mollies for 2 months), but it might be possible that she dropped the fry and these got eaten by the other fish. Same thing happened with my first female guppy. The other fish attacked her while she gave birth (I'm guessing because I didn't see this). No fry were left and she later became quiet and unhappy; she died that night from her injuries/stress.
