Female Krib Cleaning Out Inside A Cave

my female is cleaning out inside an ornament she goes in starts kissings the inside walls then turns round and wafts it with her tail. goes out and the male does a lil shakey thing. she goes back in and cleaned again. are they getting ready to spawn. thanks

Lots of people visit the old world cichlid part. Yes she is getting ready to breed. Just watch out for agression.

i have already noticed aggression the male wont let no one near her little cave. should i expect eggs within the next few days i am going to give them a feed of bloodworm before i turn the lights off.

sounds like you might be a parent soon they will be good parents so just leave them to it and you might end up with some babys nice to watch so just stand back and enjoy wazza

woke up today and she is still cleaning the cave. no eggs though. is this normal. how long will the female clean the cave for. thanks any other hints and tips please share

Post pic's if you want. The eggs will be clear, and then they will turn yellowish. They can clean their cave for a week in advance if they want. Depends on the fish.

where you say they it seems as if its just my female cleaning it and the male is in another cave and if anyone goes near the cave the female is cleaning he chases them away then occasionally she comes out and the male does a lil shakey dance.

sunds like their just starting to mate and it could be a while yet is she bright red under neath i dont think they have layed yet

yes she is bright red but she is also very dark purple aswell especially when she is by him but her colours never die down
