My female guppy gave birth for the 3rd time last week. I have noticed that her tail has sort of become matted together and is glued into a pointed tail. She seems to be struggling with swimming around. I would be sorry to lose her as she has nice colours. Nothing else has changed in the tank and all the other fish are fine. Any advice?
"clamped" talis are often a sign of another problem with the fish, is there any sign of white fluffy patches any where on the fish,
If so it may be fin rot and a simple anti fungal med should help.
I have got a aglae eater, 2 black neon tetras, 5 neon tetras, 3 male guppies, another female guppy and about 40 ish baby guppies ranging from 2 months old and 1 week old. I have just added some anti fungal so ill see if it helps.
Bought another female last week. Simular colours to the one that died, but I noticed this one was pre-hit and was preggers. Put her in the hatchery last night and woke up to about 16-20 fry. Not bad for a £1.49 purchase. Buy one and get 20 free!!!!
