my female guppy is nipping the fins of the male!!
she's taken a little chunk out of his delta tail! they're the only guppies in the tank. anybody know why she's doing this?

is she a fancy or feeder female of she is a feeder then i am afraid you might have a gambuzie,if not it might be a aggression issue, how amny guppies do you have she might want some more company
what size tank do you have,do you have a pic of her
hope this helps for now

she's an orange sunshine fancy guppy,
i just moved a different pair to their own tank; do you think this is it? maybe she just doesn't like her male companion?
everything was fine until after she gave birth. then she started giving the male holy heck.
any suggestions?

i am....arent i? :hey: but seriously i'd pick out a fish that actsjust like her at the pet store

believe it or not, i'm going to take your advice. i've got another male in a different take that i'll put in with her for awhile.
we'll see........... :look:

She could be annoyed with the pestering of most male guppy behaviours: the hornyness! I think she's saying she's had enough, and she wants to be alone from him and would like to be in a less bothered environment(a good ratio is 1 male per 3 females). Keeping 1:1 ratios will stress a female out if prolonged. Males are quite pushy characters when they want action!

My one female was always getting chased by the males (I think she's their fav.) and she'd always swim away until I got a bigger female that the males were scared of, then the first one started chasing the males, so they don't mess with her near as much as they used to.

well, i had to move my male.......his tail was looking horrible!
she just was not going to leave him alone, so i put him in my other tank and left her by herself with my gourami......
he's in peace at least
