Hi all,

We have a little tank where we put guppy fry to grow up and to later introduce back into the main guppy tank, but its not turned out like that. We've only got 3 in there, 2 females and one mail.

last week one of our female guppies started acting odd. She was laying on he bottom of the tank facing the back corner. Best way to describe it is almost like she was bored...

This lasted about a week, then a day before she died she started to lean to one side and roll over onto her back. She'd then right herself swim around abit then do the same. She then died over night.

Lastnight we noticed that the remaining female has started to do the same thing... facing the back corner and laying on the bottom.

The other feamle looked like she was pregnant as was almost about to give birth if that helps anyone - big back spot in the right place and slighty box shaped.

Anyoe got any thoughts?

Cheers all,

Sven

How often do you do water changes?
How much do you change out when you do a water change?
Has your tank been fully cycled?
How long has your tank been setup?
What are your water stats?

Did the first guppy that died look pregnant? Or could she have been constipated?

When they are about to give babies, they will often sit near the bottom sometimes, so this may be normal for your second guppy.

Thanks for the reply. Have an update too, but first:

In answer to your questions..

1. Every couple of weeks.
2. 20 to 30 %
3. Yup!
4. About 9 or 10 months.
5. Status
Amonia about 0
Nitrite about 0
Nitrate between 5 and 10
pH 7.4

Yea, looked preggers. Infact thats part of the update.

Wekk the second has died. Found her this morning on the bottom.

HOWEVER!

There was a baby in the tank!!! About 3mm in size. So, not sure if from the first or the second fish. Father is still fine and swiming fine.
