I got three of my guppies two weeks after Christmas, one male and two females. They're all King Cobra guppies, but the females still havent had their fry. They had the gravid (sp) spot since I bought them and the one female's huge! Her spot's slightly pinkish, but she's still gotten larger and larger and larger. The other one hasn't grown at all, but her gravid spot's still there. The other two females I got about a month ago and they're still pregnant - both blue verigated females.

my tank's stats have been the same since we began putting fish in it, i don't have the exact readings at the moment. the temp's 80-82F.

should i be worried? -_-

hi,
i would not worry,
they could of had them and eaten them without you knowing,
they will always have the gravid spot even after birth, they will just look smaller in size.
add some floating plants to catch the fry, good luck Donna :good:

i have a ton of plants in there, some floating for the fry. the thing is, they havent gotten smaller

They may not get small just because they have given birth. Most of the time they will, but they balloon up pretty quickly afterwards from my experience. You may be dealing with a case of the fish giving birth and there not being any survivors. You may try separating one of them into a different tank if you have one and see if you can spot more survivors when she gives birth.

thats the thing though, i have a seperate tank ready and i keep watch on them all the time when i'm home. i'm fairly positive they haven't given birth yet.

This is going to sound condescending, but let's start simple here to eliminate any things we may have overlooked.

1. Are we sure they are pregnant? A picture may help us tell.
2. Are we sure that one of the fish is male? Again, a picture will help us tell.

It's rare, but there are sterile fish. Assuming the answers to 1 and 2 are yes, it may be a result of some form of sterility. I'm kind of stumped.

yes, they're pregnant. they have huge bellies and both have gravid spots. my friend who's also very, very into fish looked at them and said "yes, they're pregnant". yes, he's a male. he has the gonopordium (sp) and a large, fancy tail. he's always chasing them around. i need to download some pics. i don't have any current ones of the females as my camera batteries are dead and we have no AAs here -growls- . there's a pic of one of my newer blue verigated guppies in my sig. you can see her spot and how big she is. my other girl's belly comes down about to where her fin stops.

edit: pics of the male.
