I paired off a CT female and male hoping to get some action. After a week the female became aggressive towards the male and started to nip off some of his fins. So I separated him and put in a much bigger CT male (introduced him slowly to her through a clear divider) She was very afraid of him and as all males do, showed aggression towards her. After a week I finally put them together. 2 weeks past no action just him chasing her around as they normally do. But just yesterday I noticed she was starting to become aggressive towards him and this morning I found my poor male totally stripped of his fins :-( I've never encountered this in a female. Has anybody out there had this problem before? I think my female might be psychotic. :hyper:

sure its not a PK male?
Hahaha I wish she was I haven't got one of those. :) No she a she as her egg tube is very prominent and she's showing white saddle bags (well thats the best way I can describe it) on each side of her belly which to me indicates roe sacks. Thanks for your comment :good:

just checking cuz i still sometimes wonder if all my female bettas are really females or just jerks lol

I do have a female and she's very, but VERY aggressive. She killed my poor Betta boy slowly. I didn't notice she was that agressive until it was too late. So he died and she's still alive. I can't be angry with her because she's just a fish, but I miss my little boy,I really did love him.
So, my advice for you is to try to isolate her for good. She will hurt every fish from now on. Of course, there can be exceptions too, but it's too risky. Try with another female and leave her alone.

So sorry to hear of your loss  So you think she will be like this all through her life? I have a little nut case on my hands and I thought kids were bad. What if I put her with an actual fighting fish that has been bred to fight. The pitbulls of the fish world. Do you think that will sort her out? :grr: Nooo Im just being nasty, Im still cranky with her but I wouldn't do that to my little nutter. Cheers :)
