My male betta ripped into my female a few weeks ago after an ill fated breeding atempt. she lives in a different part of the tank (it has two perspex dividers) and after treatment with melafix her sides and fins are on the mend. My question is this. will her finns and scales grow back and make her look the same as before? i have seen my kribs regrow fins but i can't remember if chunks were missing or if they were just split. any advice?????

p.s. also the filter isin the males part of the tank. I think the filter is too strong for him. i't on its lowest setting. is there any way of getting the water to flow directly into the females aide of the tank? i reckon with their short fins they'll cope with the water movement better. its a Superfish Aqua Flow 100 Dual Action Internal Filter.

I don't know the answer to your question about the fins, but as to the filter/waterflow - can you just move the filter over to her area? Since I am not familiar with your tank I don't know if that is possible or not. It not, why not just switch the areas the two fish are in? Put the female in a small bucket with some of the tank water, move the male to her area than put the female in the area where the male was.

Just an idea.

This sounds pretty bad how badly was she hurt? you said about her missing scales?
