Female Fighter Fins Shredded By Male U/d To Late

Hi i'm new i'm posting this for my dad. He has a trpoical tank set up a few months ago and we bought a lovely pink female fighter (my choice) he was told that a male fighter was fine to add in so he has but the male fighter has shredded her fins and tail to nearly non existant. She can't swim now and just floats around the tank. The filters where just knocking her about everywhere and she doesn't swim for food.

I was advised to use a small container and add holes in big enough for water to get in but not fish and put her in there, whcih i have one so the other fish can't ip her anymore.

We where told her fins and tail should grown back in time (wher setting up a smaller tank but it' not ready whcih is why she's in the tb till then) but how long will it take till they grow and she can swim again and is there anything i can use to speed it up.

She's just sittig ther not looking to well, from above it looks like she's peeling like when your skin peels through sun burn

sorry for your loss, who ever said they would be fine together couldn't be further from the truth, even breeding them is very risky and females will often end up battered. also males don't do well in community setups as they are solitary fish, so if he is with other fish i suggest you get him his own tank before he kills the other fish or they kill him. Again sorry for your loss
