Poor female fighter :(

The other females, plus the bleeding hearts keep on nipping at her fins.. there are already some chunks taken out of the back fin

Also she seems lifeless sorta. sinking to the bottom, not moving much and sometimes falling onto her side.

We have put her into a bowl floating at the top of the tank so no one can get her.

Think she might be dying and they know it? :S

Do you have a spare tank to put her in? Maybe it could reduce the stress for her a little and she'll come around.

if you have a breeder trap then put her in it, she will need to be close to the surface as they breathe air
i don't get what you mean by flaoting at the bottom of the tank?

What are your water stats, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

At the moment we have her in a bowl floating in the water. I will put het in the breeder trap in a min. Basically she is lying at the bottom and dosent move alot and she is sometimes on her side.

Water stats :
Amonia: 0
Nitrate: 10
Nitrite: 0
PH: 7.9
Thats what we got when we tested last night

any idea y she is being attached? our other 3 female foghters are fine.

the fighting is more than likely a dominance issue, females often fight to see who is top dog, that is why most reccomend at least 4, but you still get problems.
is her stomach pinecone shape at all?

Do you mean dropsy? where their scales stand up like a pine cone? if so i dont think she has got this. shall i get you a pic of her?

it was just when you said she was lying on her side, usually not normal, although my male does it when sleeping  but when my last male did that her had a swimbladder problem, so it could be that
a picture would help yes

ok ill put her in the breeding trap and send you the pic :)

ok, and is it all the other females that attacked her or just one?
i had one she was so evil, she killed my other 3 and she was the smallest although she was PK

Yea it was all the females attacking and the bleeding hearts too

Here she is

poor little thing
have her gills always had that red colour?
her fins don't seem too bad, with good water they should heal

Yea i think she always had red gills. So what do you think we should do with her now?

leave her in the trap for now, and keep an eye on her, see what her poo looks like as sometimes red gills can be a sign of internal parasites, but hope its not, her poo will be the sure sign

So looking at the pic you dont think its swimblader or dropsy???
