Female Egyptian Mouthbrooder Is Holding...........

I bought a pair of egyptian mouth brooders on friday, and yesterday when i checked them, i saw that the suspected female, was holding, i wasnt sure on this though, but this morning i checked on them and i can actually see some eggs.
I have read that when the female spits thefry i have got to take the male out, is this right?

im quite chuffed being as ive only had them since friday, just hope that the fry survive.

I would take the male out now.

yes take the male out now and then once she spits either take her out or move all the fry to different tanks

shall i move the male to my 39gal cimmunity tank?
just till she spits the fry, then i will move the fry to a 5gal.

The female obviously can not stay in the 5 gallon tank for longterm ( too small as I'm sure you know )... but you could do it if you have no extra space... the male and female could probably go into the same tank anyway, but it's your choise...

Since the female cant breed she will be extremely stressed when the male is bothering her.

I almost think it would be less stressfull for the female to be in the 5 gal. When they are holding, they don't seem to want to eat or do much so she may be more comfortable in the smaller space than bothered by the other fish. When she spits out the fry (or if you decide to strip her) get her out of there as soon as you notice and put her back in the regular tank.
I'm no expert of course, but this is what I did and it seemed to work well.

thanks for the replies, but what i have done is, moved the male into the 39gal, and left the female in the 20gal, so she is in peace.
i think its the 6th day since i saw her holding, i have read it can take just over 10 days to spit the fry is this true?

the 5gallon has been set up for 3 days now, so thats where i will move the fry to when she spits them.
