Hello, so im freeing up some space in my 64 litre tank, and i was wondering how many female bettas i could put in there? interested in the females because i can keep more than 1 together, whats the rules about keeping 1 male with some females? that bits not important im JW :good: also will they get on ok with neons? one of my males is in that tank ATM and apart from the occasional attempt at stalking he doesnt bother them

thanks

First off you cannot keep males and females together.
Females should be fine with neons i have kept them together in the past no problems.
you could fit 5/6 females in your tank with plenty of hiding places

Yeh thought so, i wasnt thinking of keeping them together would be cool if you could though

Well my stocking on the 64 litre will be 6 bronze corys (if the shop has some next time i go in) 2 small BN plecos (which have a place to go once they get too big for me) 11 tetras then the female bettas, so 5/6 would be ok? and ive got a good amount of wood in there and some plants and going to get more plants so should be enough places to hide

also, i know it isnt ideal but ive got my 2 males now in a 5 gal divided tank, i was using the filter to airate the tank but it only works when its on fairly high, and it makes the flow too strong in the side of the tank its in, will they be ok for oxy for a while untill i can get another pump? theres plants in there so that will help oxygenate and i know they can breath atmospheric air but i read its good to have a pump anyway. cheers

i personally would have either the cories or the plecos (probs best with cories cause trust me 2 BN's in that size tank is a lot of poop )

other than that should be fine as long as you keep the maintaince up :good:

the males should be ok just keep an eye on the temp with no current it might drop a bit

Well the plecs are literally under an inch atm, so ive got a bit of time before i have to think about doing anything with them, but they arn't going to be perm in this tank :good:

And yeh, i keep on top of stuff, ive got a poop machine pleco in there atm which is about 5 inches, hes going to a bigger tank tomorrow he outgrew me very quick

And yeh didn't think about that actually, ive got it so some of the flow will pass the divider on one side (being careful on how much of a gap i leave for obvious reasons) and a hole cut out with filter media covering it on the other, i had it divided before with 2 guppies in 1 side and a betta in the other and had no problems atall so should be ok. I'm going to look into making a better divider with mesh on one of the ends so i can get more flow going around, this is a make shift one i made when i had the guppies.

Thanks for the help :)
