Sorry about my abundance of threads

But yes, as far as female betta's go I could not find information pertaining to what I want to know so:

1) Do they dislike current as much as male bettas?

2) Is a 25L (~6Gal) tank too small for a community of females?

3) If so, can I keep a single female betta with platies?

I have 5 girls in a 30l Biorb, and they seem to really like it. I find them fascinating and end up watching them more than the boys. Plenty of hiding places like plants and caves are needed, as they establish their own territory and see off intruders! You need more than 4 girls but I wouldn't have more than 4 or 5 in a tank that size. They aren't as bothered about current as the boys as their fins are generally smaller and won't have bubble nests to spoil. They wouldn't like anything too strong though.

Ah ok, I would be keeping them in the 3rd tank in my sig, it has an Aquaclear 20 so it might be a bit much, not many caves really either :(

Maybe I could try it out, I'll have to get a few more rocks.

There are threads on here somewhere about reducing filter current for bettas. As for hiding places, bog wood is good and looks great, or you can use little terracotta plant pots. I didn't want to put you off!

I use sponge filters for all my bettas. They really seem to like them.

I personally like to give my girls alot of room. I have 7 females in a 29 gallon with some neon tetras. It's working really well!
