I recently Bought 3 female bettas from Big Als, my problem is these girls are colorful and aggresive. I thought females were dull and docile. thats what I remember them to be mind you its been a few years since my last girl passed away.

 that made me smile. I imagined these feisty little young groovy fish! Then I thought of these old ladies sitting knitting peacefully! :shout: :shout:

Girls can be just as feisty as boys. :good: Although they won't usually attack each other like two males would, except in the scenario there were under four females in a tank at once. Although my current females aren't quite as pretty as my male.

I had them in a 10 Gall with a divider in it so they could get to know my boy so about 8 gallons, now one is in the tank and the other 2 are in 2 liter Jars with a plant and gravel. So I should get a few more females is that what I am getting???
Why dont I remember these problems from when I bred bettas before ????? absent minded I guess.

I've never really noticed females to be less colourful, it's just that they have a less streamlined body shape, and shorter fins that usually seem to be of poorer "quality" than the males fins (not as nicely shaped, etc).

But then, I am new to the hobby and all, so I think I've probably just been around since they started getting colourful females. :hey: I LOVE the female at my parents' place. She is stunning. She's a cambo, with the most perfect finnage...
