ok, i went over to my freinds house today, and he had a female betta, a goldfish and a black molly in the same tank. why isn't the female betta attacking the other fish?

because females are less vigorous than males and you can keep females together happily in a community tank its only the males that kill each other but even they can be kept in a community (just 1 male though :D )

Females are far happier though living with other females IME.
However, as personalities differ, my dominant female takes on males and gives her female betta tank mates hell when she feels like it. She is calm enough most of the time but she can definately hold her own with the betta boys. :hyper:

My female Yasmin is more aggressive than all the male bettas I have had put together.(But most of the males I had or have are kind and sweet)
