Hello fellow betta experts! I'm pretty new to the fish world, but I always thought bettas were especially beautiful, even though they're inexpensive, so about a month ago I got a male betta who is just lovely, with red and black scales and a tale that fades to dark blue. We called him Izsak and he was so great, that when he started building a bubble nest at the top of his bowl, we didn't want to deny him an opportunity to have a mate.

So a few days ago we got a female betta who we've named Mai and is equally as beautiful as Izsak. When we first got her, she looked like she had a white body and blue and red fins and tale, but now, with a few days in the tank (that has a divider between her and Izsak) her body has turned a shade of light pink.

BUT, right after we bought her, I looked at her closer and noticed that her right eye is fogged over. My boyfriend said not to worry, and he thinks she might just be blind, but I'm worried that it's something else, like a disease. I've heard of pop-eye, but none of the other symptoms fit with her. She eats just fine, and the fogged eye isn't bigger than the other. She's pretty active and seems healthy, other than the fact that it doesn't seem like she can see out of that eye.

Call me a worry wart, but I just wanted to get a second opinion.

Thanks!

Doesn't sound like popeye. Could be injury which will likly heal on its own with waterchanges, could also have been born that way in which case nothing you can do. Keep up waterchanges and see if there is improvement. Also monitor behavior for any changes. From what you describe she sounds healthy and active. Any chance of a pic?
cheers
