Well, my 3 way divded tank sprung a leak :S I have a replacement now, but the dressing table the tank sits on it wet and needs to dry out so I have Darth in the 14 litre Q tank, Splodge in a large breeding net in my community, and Loki in my 50 litre along with some female platies and female swordtails. She was not impressed at first but now is exploring some.

What i want to know is, should she be OK with these fish? i am keeping a close eye on her but if anyone thinks this may be a big problem, i can wedge a divider in and separate her. I am hoping though that she fits in well as I would like her to live there permanantly if possible (room for another male betta then :p)

Advice, hints?

It really depends on the Betta. They are not the ideal tank mates but she should be ok in with them. All you can really do is keep a close eye, if any one is going to bully it would be her putting them in their place.

I have two female fighters in my community tank, and i have 6 guppies in with them, and i was very cautious about whether to do it or not, so i added them at the same time, and at times i even see them playing around, although i watched them like a hawk for the first 12 hours..

:) Right now she seems very happy and is not taking much notice of her tankmates. I'll just leep an eye on her - easy to do as she is now right by where I sit on the sofa! I keep seeing her flash by out of the corner of my eye :p

This morning, all is still good. Loki is swishing round the tank like it is her own palace, and not even glancing at the other fish. i think she believes them to be below her :p The other fish are behaving as normal and taking a little interest in Loki but she just ignores them. I hope this works out, it's great to see her in this larger tank!

Oh I hope the table is dried out by the time I get home, I wanna set up my new tank! I also hope the filter media is ok - it is in my 14 litre with Darth for company! I did get a free bottle of Cycle with the tank, should I add this to be sure?
Can't wait to see how baby Loki is getting on with the platies and swordtails tonight! She looks so sweey swimming round in there :p And I wanna get poor Splodge out of the community ASAP - he is in a large breeding net but not too happy :(

Loki seems very happy in her new home, so i have set up the ne tank to just divide into 2. Means Darth and Splodge get extra space :p though if I DO find another wonderful betta, i can always pop in another divider! Though I kinda like it how it is now :)
Splodge seems happy in his new space, pretty unscathed from living in a breeding net for 2 days with evil little danios nudging the net and staring at him! Poor old Darth has had a nibble of his tail though :( Not sur when, he seemed OK in the little tank he moved to but I had no light for it so who knows. Poor thing is looking a bit sorry for himself, and he clamped his tail on moving to the new tank. He has unclamped now but is very cautious. Left the lights off for tonight to give him chance to settle in. Lights are much better on this tank, a lot brighter! I can see their colours more vividly. Pics soon if I can get my stupid camera to stop locking my focus

Lol.....Diva Loki. I bet she's acting like a right spoilt princess!!!!!

Yup. She looks down on her tankmates, she won't let them look her in the eye :p She is so funny to watch! remember a few weeks ago, i was worried about her gill sticking out? It is still like that but doesn't seem to cause her any problems. I have come to the conclusion that that is just how she looks :p she had me so worried for a while!

Glad she's doing ok. I've heard of some fish having sticky out gills but with no problems.....probably tried to flare like a boy and got stuck lol
