Ok, this is the second time this has happened... I figured the first time, the new arrival wasn't accepted into the tank.
I have a tank full of female bettas, 7 as of this morning, 6 as of now. I wake up, no problems in the tank, look now, and find the white girl ripped to pieces. Why are they being so aggressive? Both the females that I've lost have been white.. Maybe they hate white fish? Just wondering what exactly might be going on all of a sudden.. The newest fish had been 2 females, DT and HM, DT was killed, and a VT was killed. So the newest fish is a HM.. Could it be her?

Its the fact that you added a new fish into an establish heirarchy. To try and minimise the aggression when you add a new fish take everything out rearrangethe tank giving lots of hiding places, then add them all back at the same time. Its not fool proof but worth trying. I sadly lost a new girl even after rearranging the tank

One that i lost was the first girl I put in... so I don't think its that really.

It is, the new fish upsets the heirarchy so they fight, it might just be that the newer one was a better fighter if you see what I mean

It was only recently had a full tear down etc becuase of a finrot problem my orange VT girl spread, so it was pretty new for them aswell..

Oh no, its always sad when one goes, Ive lost 3 in 2 months. Im getting a new one next week, I hope she will settle in with the others

I kept a single female (wrong i know) for two months and she was quite happy, until i put in two more yesterday as i thought she needed some pals. she is red and the two new ones are white. and now she wont stop flaring at the other two fish, i am also stuck on what to do now and hope i dont go home to dead fish.

I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping females alone. But a way to help this problem is to take them all out of the tank and rearrange EVERYTHING. Make it look completely different from before so your red betta's territory isn't established.
