Feeding

Just wondering how much you should feed and how often you should feed tropical fish.

It says on the flake food that you should feed 2-3 times a day but mum was saying that it tells you that for them to get more money.

We got one fish just now about half an inch long so just wondering how much we should feed (like a few flakes) and how often we should feed it.

Many people feed theirs twice a day, just like the container says... I feed mine once, before I turn off the lights; however.

Welcome to the forum,

What kind of fish do you have? Small fish generally have a stomach about as big as their eye so a fish that size will only eat about 3 flakes of food max. I starve my fish one day a week and it doesn't do them any harm, they can go 2 weeks without eating no problems in a mature planted tank.

I feed 2 or 3 times a week, generally.

I feed a few times a week we got told by a pet shop that was all they needed

I feed frozen food 6 evenings a wk to all our tanks.I put sinking pellets in twice a week and live food in once a week.

once a week I put cucumber in the tanks.
