Hello All,

Is it true that you can feed tropical fish fresh veggies? If so, what and how? I quite like the idea of giving them something nice to eat. I'm sure it will depend on the type of fish you have as well.

Thanks

if its green it ca can go in you tank just dont over do it ;)

Frozen peas is often a good one once a week. Put them in boiling water for a few minutes, then remove the outer shell and squish them between your fingers (depending how large the mouths are!)

Also, bottom feeders like things along the lines of cucumber and blanched lettuce. cucumber is fine to go in (weighted down) on its own, lettuce you can put in on its own or like with the peas, boil it for a minute (or less!) to soften it.

Its worth noting that you shouldn't feed exclusively on vegetables, and also that you should wash them well before putting them into your tank (to remove pestacides etc)

Take it out and throw it away around 24hrs after putting it in, be persistent as the fish will not know what it is initially
