I have a little baby sev (about an inch and a half) and was looking for treats for him. He likes tropical flakes, FD tubifex worms, and frozen brine shrimp. He kind of likes cichlid pellets and frozen bloodworms, but not a huge fan. I fed him a little bit of lettuce a while ago and munched on it a little, but didn't eat a whole lot.

My sev is quickly becoming my favorite fish. He comes to say hi when I look at the tank (when he isn't admiring himself in the mirror  ), very peaceful to my tetras and cories, shows his mood with his stripes, and is the first to the top at all of the feeding times.

Give him some skinned peas...my two sevs love em and i make it a regular part of their diet. And mwm is right...keep an eye on those tetras.

Do you have any live aquarium plants , or does any one you know ? If so my sons [Dwarfs ] severum has eaten anubias , java fern [ we don't put those in his tank any more , too expensive ] , we will throw clumps of java moss , and clippings when I prune my wisteria .

Also "Sonny " loves romain lettuce , even if it doesn't sink , he's a bit bigger then your guy is right now , and will eat peas skin and all , so as "digital " said skinned peas would be great .

For the most part this guy eats what ever is in front of him , fish food wise
So veggies would be the treat from us .

They are very persoable fish , almost like a dog , in that they will greet you even when you enter the room thier tank is , At least this is true with the sevs I have kept .

^^^^That's what I would have said :p

Your tetras are in danger when your sev reaches the 4" mark, mine eats tetra sized pieces of krill, and hes about 5.5" ATM :) Good luck

Damn, I would have liked to keep those tetras. I guess I'll have to find a way to split the tetras and cories between the 10 and 20 gallon sometime...

What I'd like to do in this 40H (36Lx12Wx22H) is do something like bnose, sev, senegalus bichir, 2 blue gouramies, would I be able to do this and some other fish?

try some frozen shrimp from the grocerie store, mine go crazy over it, they kinda aggresive with it though hehe

make sure you thaw it first!
