Hi all,
Hoping someone can help me with my Betta. I have a 125 litre tank with quite a few occupants, all of which seem to get on ok (while I'm watching at least). My Betta seems to spend nearly all of his time at the bottom of the tank. This is posing a problem when it comes to feeding, as most of the flake food gets gobbled up before any has time to start sinking. The bits that do sink, the red tail and silver sharks get. Have some bottom feeders in there too, so they get some pellets thrown in for them, but they are too big for the Betta to chomp down. He tries, aimlessly, bless him, but as he is still alive I'm guessing he must be getting some nutrition, possibly from when the pellets are saturated enough that he can break them down.
The guys that get most of the food are the Zebra Danios I have. Fast little buggers, and feeding time is basically a frenzy to get some before they all do. Could they be the reason that my Betta hides at the bottom? The other occupants are a Gold Gourami, 2 Silver Sharks, 1 Red Tail Shark, 3 Clown Loach, 2 Botia Loach and a Bristlenose Pleco, but I don't see a problem between any of them getting along.
Hope I can sort this out, as I have a really healthy tank, except for him, he just looks a bit fed up all the time.
Thanks in advance.
