the problem i have is as follows.

my tank is stocked with..

8 cardinals (2 recently died)
6 emperors
4 scissor tails
2 popendettas
2 rams
2 frogs
1 blue phantom
1 hong kong plec
1 bristlenose plec
1 denisonii barb

the problem i have is that the denisonii barb will ONLY eat bloodworms. when i feed flake he doesnt seem bothered and swims around the bottom. so what i have tended to do is feed the blood worms and flake on alternate days so the frogs eat everyother day too.

does the barb actually eat off the bottom of the tank? or is he not eating the flake at all.

also any recomendations on how i should be feeding and how often.

this has all come about after i have realised that my ammonia is up to .25-0.5 due to how i have been feeding, i did do a 10% water change last night as i have lost 2 cardinals, one of which i cant find int he tank, then other i fished out

When you get hungry, im sure anything on the menu appeals, when your not hungry you get fussy. Let the little sh1t work it out ;)

A stunning fish which likes to be in a group of 4-6, so he could be showing some signs of stress.

Keith.

Agree with Keith, it is a schooling species so needs some buddies. When in a group you can see how fast they really are.

With feeding i keep at least 6 different types of food a i know some of my bigger fish will eat it before the smaller fish. i have figured out what they dont prefer and that way i can start by feeding the smaller fish first and then other food in.
