I was wondering if I needed to feed the plant in my tank and if I do what shall I feed them with? Also what is this about putting CO2 into the tank as well? Can someone shed some light on it for me?

Plants need light, CO2 (and O2) and food (mostly Nitrates).

Depending on how many plants you have and how big the tank is will vary the amounts of the stuff above you should consider for your plant(s).

One live plant in a medium tank can be left to it's own devices. Its a natural process.. the fish will provide the CO2, and the bacteria within your filter will produce the Nitrates. About 8hrs of light from your lighting system would be good.

My tank is around 13 us gallons a and I have a big Java fern plant in and another Java fern with some weeds.

dont worry about co2 i run 4 tanks which are well planted and none have co2 and all the plants grow very well and healthy
