Feeding Ottoa

I am thinking of getting 5 ottos. I'm curious when I feed them do I 'em all 1 algae wafer or do I give 'em a wafer each?

Hi, I am a newbie but here is my experience so far.

It would depend on what else is in your tank. I have 2 tanks set up in one they are the only bottom feeders/algae eaters (2 of them) and I feed them about 1/4 to 1/2 a wafer. In my other tank I have 2 ottos as well as 3 corys and plattties(which are piggies and love the wafers as well) so I break up 2 wafers and put in various areas of the tank. You should also feed them fresh veg as well. Mine love cucumber. Other members may suggest other veg they have found the otto like.

When I do tank maintenance, I always clean the back glass very lightly, especially for the Otos. My four originals barely move from there to eat. The new ones I bought a couple of weeks ago, though, are all over the plants at the front of the tank and have definitely got fatter since I bought them. I also have ten Corys and about ten minutes after lights out, I drop three halves of Tetra Tabimin at each end of the tank and in the middle. The Otos wait until the corys have broken them up further before diving in for their share. Otos are not stupid!.
