how often do u feed ure oscars? i walk pass once in a while and they always swimming near the top. so i decide to feed them they always go crazy swimming around i feed them 6 pellets there are 3 of them. pellets about 1 cm diameter. all 3 are about 3.5 inches. i feed them non stop. will they die of overeating? cause they always seem to be in the mood for eating i was soooooooo scared when an oscar jumped up and took the food as soon as i took the hood off and was about to feed it . oscars have pretty sharp teeth cause i felt it :D

i don't know, but i heard that you almost can't over feed an oscar as they are actually a bottomless pit

i just gave mine away :-( my gf owns 2 75's and a 125 and she let me have one of her 75's for the oscar but she decided to take it back and i said ok because im preparing for a peacock eel :D

how big is your tank? 3 oscars that a huge tank

any chances of pics?

Hello, i have 3 Oscars and i feed them 1 stick x2 a day. I also include blood worm and some pea's with the skin on every so often. Dont worry about the taking out of hand, thats somthing they are good at. What you have to worry abou is the fish jumping out of the tank. I have stuck some velcro on the lid "just to make sure".

diet is one thing i keep meaning to find out about.

at the moment mine gets a good mouthful of prawns 1 x per day and then some pellets and flakes cos i have to put them in for the other fish in there. so thats probably twice a day.

you have to try and resist over feeding them.

there like dogs and begging.

i dont think it does any immediate harm but it cant be good for them to be fat.

i kno your not supposed to feed them fatty meats so it must build up on there hearts and stuff like it does us.

yeah i just feed them once a day, the probably get a day off once a week, and try to alternate between 2 types of pellets, some sticks, live food, frozen and stuff like prawns.

Oscar's are uber greedy they'll just keep eating and eating if you let them. I find if they're got so much food in they're mouth they can't shut it or swallow the food then they've probably had a bit too much

I feed mine once a day.

Also, unless your tank is over 150 GAL or more with no tankmates then you are overstocked.

i think it is 150g, was talking to her the other day, she's inherited a 75g and a 150g i think, not sure what's in the 75 but i'm pretty sure the Oscar is in the 150 :good:
