I beleive it was Freddyk who told me some time ago that I should find a food for my johannii that had plenty of spirulina in it. Well, I couldn't find such a think in the any of the available "cichlid" foods. So far, out of all the "cichlid" food products, I have 4 that provide the most plant based nutrition. However, all four list fish meal as the main ingredient. Three list the second ingredient as wheat meal, and One as brown rice. For the 3rd ingredient, three list shrimp meal, and so on down the line. A few days ago I was reading the ingredients of the so called "algea wafers," of which hikari's had only a minimum amount of actual plant products and was mostly produced from animal products. Wardley's however uses spirulina as the main ingredient, and the top 5 main ingredients are plant products. Should I feed these to my johannii? If anyone has a comment, they would be appreciated.
