What should i be feeding my fish...

I have:

A German Blue ram (m) & A Dutch Blue Ram (f)
A Pair of Bolivin Rams
A Plec
5 Zebra Danio
4 Peppered Corys

At the moment i am feeding them all on Flake food, Algae Wafers, Nutrafin max complete pellet food and a mixture of frozen foods

After about a month of trying new things i have found this out,

Zebra Danios - They eat everything apart from the algae wafers. I was getting a little concerned for the 4 rams as the flakes are gone before they get a chance to fall to the bottom. They go for bananas too

Plec - This guy munches away round the tank in the plants and glass ect. He eats the wafers too so im not to concerned about him.

Corys - They sift through the sand and look to be happy chappys, also eating the wafers and frozen foods.

Rams - These are what im really having the problem with. If any flakes make thier way to the bottom maybe 2 of the 4 will get some. They go nuts over the frozen foods, the Nutrafin max complete pellet food is crap because they float  As for the Algae Wafers i was kinda surprised... The female Bolivian Ram eat these? is that normal? she will come over to the plec and pick it out from him and nibble away at it.

I had read that The Cichlid wont come to the top of the tank to be fed and needed sinking pellets, which i tried to get at the lfs. The woman said that she wasnt sure what i ment and told me she fed her rams with these Nutrafin max complete pellet food, but they float and only the zebras will take some of them

I have tried all sorts of frozen foods.

Bloodworm - All the fish loved this and it was the best as far as i could see
Mosquito Larvae - Most of the fish liked this
Tubifex - Same as the mosquito larvae
Brine Shrimp - most of the fish liked this too but they took a few mins to start eatting it
Dapnia - same as the shrimp

So...
Am i feeding my fish rite? What should i add if anything? And also I have chosen to Feed them Frozen Bloodworm and Mosquito larvae, but how often should i give this to them, every day, 2 days, 1day bloodworm, next day mosquito larvae or once a week as a treat? Im a little confused here :( Another thing i had heard about was freeze dried food?

Well any help is greatly welcome :dunno:

Thanks

Personally I alternate between:

A - Flakes and a sinking tablet broken up

and

B - Either Bloodworms / Daphea / Brine Shrimp

Having said that my Rams go for anything, incluing my hand during water changes / tank clean outs!

I feed King British cat fish pellets as a suppliment, yet my Rams love them too.
I also feed sinking crisps a the same time as normal flake, this ensures that the bottom feeders get theirs while the top feeders are busy.

Sorry I can't help you specifically with the Rams, however I will try with some of your queries.

I feed sinking tablets (most fish will go for these) but I mainly use them to feed my bottom dwellers (drop one in after lights out to ensure that any mainly nocturnal fish get a chance).

Flake....all the fish go for this......including my Convicts (cichlids).....feeding at the surface for it, whilst others wait for it to drift down.

I also feed them cichlid sticks, which they love.

I too use frozen or live food, but tend to only do this once a week as a treat........otherwise it could get too expensive.

And I try to miss one day a week of feeding...........to keep the algae at bay etc. If the tank is looking a little groggy, water not too good, bit of an algae problem, I cut down on the feeding. It just reminds the Bristlenoses and Snails to go get the algae off the decorations....

Good luck.......

....don't forget to try some fresh veg (like a slice of cucumber) every now and again.
