I have 3 Java Moss balls in my fry tank and hopibg to have some fry in a week or so from a psuedotropheus will the fry eat/graze on the Java moss balls or should I feed them something else? I dont have anything else yet except chiclid flakes, could I grind that up?

best thing you can do for them is grow loads of algae.. apart from that finely crushed flake and newly hatched brine shrimp will be ideal.

Personally, I like to keep fry tanks clean (well, at least for the tanks that only contain fries). So far, my Pseudotropheus Acei fries are doing great on only the spirulina flakes and hatched brine shrimps.

Since I keep my rocks coated in algae in the main tank, I put a couple of smaller ones in the fry tank so they can pick through the day. In edition I grind up flakes and pellets to a powder (for when they're very small) and depending on the mbuna I will use baby brine shrimp as well.

i fed my fry insuforia that i culture myself. simply take a jar with tank water, put a leaf of lettuce in, cap the jar and set in a sunny window for 24 hours. remove the lettuce leaf and pour the water into the tank. good to keep a few jars going at a time.
