Is this what im supposed to do/ can i do this?:
-Take some (store bought) lettuce
-Blanch it (does this mean to put it in a cup with water in it and put it in a microwave?)
-Let it float in the tank (or anchor it down)

Do i have to do anything else?

Just get a jug of boiling water and let it soak for a few minutes till it softens, my fish don't like lettuce so don't be surprised if they turn there noses up at it the first time you try it.

ok, what about spinach? do i do the same thing with that? do most fish like it?

Yes just boil in a pan for a couple of minutes then let cool.

use darker leaved lettuce as the normal round lettuce or iceberg doesnt have any nutritional value. :)

I don't think there's much nutritional value in cucumber either and everyone seems to feed their plecos that. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Nearly all of them, lettuce, cucumba, sproats, broc, green cabbage, peas, banna, apple.

probably the apple, but not the banna.

no i put them in as they are, but dont feed fruit too often. they like a bit of orange too. if feeding fruit remove after an hour or so.

use Romain if you can .

Hi....frozen peas, warmed, then shelled are great. My loaches eat them and they are hit midtank frequently by my rainbows and congo tetras. BAM. Freezing the veggies first can save some microwave time since this softens them. I have zucchini and spinach that I place in that kooky clown fish clip that sticks to the wall of the tank. IMO, lettuce and cukes have less nutritional value. I was surprised that you can use fruit (re: sugar in the tank). Any thoughts on whether it matters if the veggies are clipped mid tank or placed on the bottom? SH
