Feeding Frozen Foods

Do you prefer to thaw frozen foods prior to feeding them to your fish?

YES always ... with there own tank water.

My Piranha live off Shrimp Mussells and squid all frozen.

I simply take a cup of the Piranha water and thaw the food takes only minutes.

Mini-cubes of brine shrimp and the like... I just leave them on a small saucer to thaw. If I'm in a hurry I fill a tea cup with warm water and float them...

Assuming you remove any types of foil, it seems that even a 5 second nuke in the microwave turns the edges grey - I have no facts to back it up - but IMO in probably destroys some of the nutricional value....

Mine will take "slightly" frozen food - but I've always felt it's not good for them. I dunno why!

As I said .. cup of there tank water is best ... better then introducing chlorine to there food source.

I don't thaw them, but they thaw out in my tank when I plop it in.

I defrost frozen foods in tank water which only takes about 3 minutes.

it depends. if you're talking about meaty foods than of course you fish wouldn't want a block of ice. for worms and everything its still acceptable without much thawing. =

nope i just throw it in, but it's only bloodworm/shrimp. The fish dont seem to care!!

yes always, i use a bit of tank water the leave the prawns/bloodworm on top of the tank for about 20 mins

is there any reason to thaw? my fish have never seem to care about the food being frozen, I have even thrown frozen clams in the tank for my puffer and he goes right at it
