When you feed frozen foods is it better to just put the food straight into the tank frozen or to thaw it then put it in the tank?

i tend to let my blood worms defrost a little so they break up quickly so my eels can get some. brine shrimp i found is best to throw in frozen, for me at least.

i always put mine in frozen so as it defrosts they fall and it also floats around at the same time so you dont end up with a big clump in one area and all fish get a chance at the falling food.

just has anyone got any tips on feeding discus with live food just tryed them for the first time with it and they seem intrested till it moves then they swim away from it lol

Place in a fine net and run under the cold tap until defrosted, Rinse food into tank or use tweezers to spot feed. Then wash and steralize net.

When i defrost my food i would just put some tank water into a cup and put the food into the cup until it defrosts, then pour it into the tank.

That's exactly what I do and it works really well, only takes a few minutes to defrost. I don't always put the whole cube in, depends on the size of your tank and how many fish :good:
