How often should fish be fed? I heard its good to skip 1 day out of the week since they can get constipated and that they should be fed 2 times a day, in small amounts. Also, are fish flakes ok for the fish I have (theyre in my siggy)? I know goldfish should have pellets since they can easily get swim bladder but can the others?

are all your fish in the same tank? whats your tank size? I hope your goldfish tank is large since for 7 Goldfish to live comfortably you need 80 Gallons. Rule is 20 gallons for the first and 10 gallons for each after that. Also goldfish are a col water species and need there own tank temp or it will shorten there lifespan considerably. Flakes are fine for all your fish except the pleco which needs algae wafers and prepared veggies to live on.

Few other stocking tips also would be tetras need groups of 6 for each type unless there of similar color and size in which case the 2 types may school togeather. Zebra Danio also are kept best in groups. And also what type of Pleco do you have? Common Pleco grow to 20+in and need a huge tank (100+ gallons).

Also consider frozen food such as brine shrimp and blood worms as a treat for your fish.

These are fish that I recently rescued (someone giving them away) and they're still in the same tanks they came in (5 gal and 2 gal. they're still small) but I'm preparing on putting them in new tanks very soon. I'm aware of how much room they need and that the tropicals are schooling fish, so I'll need to get more neons and zebra danios. I still haven't figured out what species my pleco is. It is most likely a common though. And comet goldfish aren'tlike fancy goldfish, they need much more space and are really pond fish. I have a huge pond I plan to put them in in around August.
Yea, I know pleco's need algae wafter, I wasn't referring to him, but now that I think about it I dunn how often pleco's should be fed either.

sorry, was just checking since alot of people recently have been posting about current stocking in small tanks. What I would do for the pleco is grab some cucumber and weight it down in the tank. Chances are he will latch on and eat it. It may make the water look cloudy but the tank params should be fine provided its not in there to long. If your tank naturally has algae that works out very well too.

Feed your pleco some courgette. My bristlenose loves it.

You should feed in the evening or in the night as they are mainly nocturnal.
