Mornin all, (I know its 12.40p.m. but I've only just got up!)

I've got 6 barbs, 1 blue lobster and a bristlenose... heres my problem.

The barbs are such hungry scavaging little buggars they will eat anything that goes in the tank including me! Now the only way lobster stops the barbs eating his food is by charging in claws and legs flaying, grab his food and make a swift backwards dash to his cave. My bristlenose however is far to small to fend of the barbs and he eats the same food as the lobster.

Lobster against Bristlenose... no contest.

So has anybody out there got any brillant suggestions how everyone can eat happily together. Not too worried about the barbs as they can eat flakes etc but Boris(lobster) and Bristlenose need sinking foods.

Cheers

P.S. When will the bristles start showing?

Morning/afternoon

Try putting some weighted cuecumber in the tank for the bristlenose, I had a similar problem when I had one with a crayfish but the bristlenose loved eating the cumber and the cray wouldnt touch it, also have you tried pleco pellets he might eat them too?

Anyway good luck and enjoy the rest of the day lol

Pellets are what I'm using at the mo... they all love them.
Are the barbs gonna take a fancy to the cucumber too? It wouldn't suprise me

I shouldnt think so, the barbs my nibble at it but once the bristle gets on it then it should be fine, just remember to weight it down or it will be floating around the tank :)
