in a garden centre near me they sell 10 river shrimp for £1 for feeding large fish.. i was just wondering if i bought some and put it in the tank with my lobster would he eat them and if i put all 10 in at once would they all try to eat him or would he just pick one out at a time when ever he was hungry? thanks

He would most def eat them. Lobsters are a predatory animal and i would guess shrimp as most def being on their menu.

As with the gorging question. Animals always will gorge themselves when food is plentiful because in nature you never know when your next meal is coming. Your lobster may not eat them all and stop when he is full but it is prob better to just put a couple in and see how long it takes him to get them. If he finishes them off in a minute or two, then just hold off. Also too, depends on how big he is and how big the shrimp are as to how many you want him to eat in a meal.
