I'll be honest and say I never have, and I've not had a problem, but the general feeling here is yes, as the water could have all sorts of nasties in it along with the live food.

yeah i wouldnt put that water in your tank, it would give you some type of disese or something maybe turn one of your fishs into a frog! ! ! lol
