I can't seem to feed him. The zebra danios and australian rainbowfish eat like savages and the neon dwarf gourami doesn't even look up :(. I've seen him eating some of my smaller leafed plants but I worry he is gonna starve. Should I put him in a bucket for feedings ? lol ???

He probably is eating when your not around, but try putting the food at each corner of the tank then the fish will separate out to eat and not all be fighting for the same food.Put some in one corner first so the danios swim for it then sprinkle some in another corner near your Gourami. I had the same problem with a couple of my fish but there doing fine.
Hope this helps. :)

I have 1 male and 2 female dwarf gourami's in my tank and they seem to do pretty good when it comes to getting a fair share of food - that said they dont have too much competition for food at the upper layers.

However I regularly add a chunk of cucumber to the tank (held in place on a clip) primarily for my 3 otocinclus and amano shrimp- but I have also found that my male gourami LOVES it ..... he eats it everytime I put it in the tank, and it saves him getting interested in my plants.

I usually remove the very soft centre of the cucumber to prevent it getting too soft and breaking up in the water, then I just blanche it in hot water for about 20 secs and then into the tank ..... I dont leave it in for more than 24 hours otherwise it gets a little too soft.

I have two dwarf gourami's and they do not like flake food but they love the frozen foods like brine shrimp and blood worms. The also enjoy algea tabs that I feed to my pleco.

Wow good stufff guys ty. Spreading the food around seems to work when the food falls I can see him getting a few. I'd like to try to feed them some cucumber hmmm any other veggies that would work?

My Gouramis loves Peas. Yes frozen garden peas cooked then left to go cold. I just take a tablespoon out when I make my dinner about once a week. I would do less as you have not so many. I shell the skins as this is tough and my Golden Gouramis almost eats it out of my hand. The red Gouramis like grated carrot. Cucumber and Courgette is another thing. I think it's good for them about once of twice a week.
Bloodworms are really a treat and I like to give them also. Unfortunately it may look like there is no food left but the flake food sometimes get's trapped in the plants so they will forage for this. Too much food upsets your filter so like the other's remove any uneaten food. It may cause a bacteria spread if left to go off. Like humans you'll soon find their favourites. I am thinking of putting mine on a diet.
